couleurs en 16bit

bonjour a tous,
voila je débute sous linux et j'ai un petit probleme, comme marqué dans le titre du sujet mes couleurs sont en 16bit et non 24 !! ce qui donne des couleurs fade et des dégradé pas trés agréables .... je ne vois pas d'ou sa vien j'ai bataillé pour installer linux a cause de la carte graphique (X800 GT) car il me proposé le mauvais driver. J'espere que vous pourrez donner une réponse a ma question.

alors j'ai modifié le DefaultColorDepth 16 en 24 a la surprise d'une joie multicoloré n'importe commen en gro sa affiché n'importe koi a dominance violet et je me suis un peu embété pour remetre en 16
